Custom Design vs. Templates
Templates are usually priced considerably lower, because of the volume that are sold. You can buy an exclusive license, if they haven't sold any of the same templates, but expect to pay a hefty price (anywhere from $2,300.00 to $5,000.00), depending on where you buy your template.

Custom design can take as many as 60 hours or more, depending on the look you want and whether or not Flash is used, so these carry a hefty price tag too. However, it's worth it oftentimes to achieve a unique look that you won't run into over and over and over again.
